The Ninefold Vision
The Sisterhood of Avalon’s Ninefold festival embodies a vision dedicated to creating diverse community in sacred space, building bonds of sisterhood across cultures, and celebrating the unique reflection of the Divine Feminine in every woman. With an emphasis on the Avalonian Tradition and aligned teachings, the Ninefold Festival seeks to hold a space where Avalon’s gifts of safety, healing, and sovereignty can be experienced in the here and now. The Sisterhood welcomes all women to participate in the mysteries of the Ninefold – whether for a weekend…or a lifetime.

Among its activities, the SOA sponsors the Avalonian Thealogical Seminary; facilitates international training intensives; hosts spiritual pilgrimages to sacred sites in the UK and Ireland through Mythic Seeker; publishes devotional anthologies, keepsake datebooks, and religious calendars through Ninth Wave Press, as well as “The Tor Stone” a digital Journal of Women’s Spirituality, and “The Barge”, our member newsletter; hosts an annual Celtic women’s spirituality gathering called the Ninefold Festival; connects with women around the world through AvaCon, an online conference; and provides a variety of learning opportunities both through local hearth groups and online community support.

Incorporating her training as an End of Life Doula, research on Celtic death and funeral practices, and principles of the Avalonian cycle and goddesses, Robin will lead participants in a workshop which offers a powerful method for understanding and grieving our shadows as well as envisioning a life without them. Workshop topics include:
- How death doula practices can be used in a process of letting go what no longer serves us; *Information about how the Celts approached death and honoring the deceased;
- Exploration of how each of the goddesses in the Avalonian tradition can help us to better understand the purpose of our shadows and craft a ritual for honoring and releasing them;
- Looking at the alignment between the Avalonian cycles and the stages of death from a death doula’s perspective. (Trigger warning for discussions of physical death and loss)
Participants Need To Bring: Something to take notes with. If you have any symbols or herbs to reflect the shadow issue you are working on that may be helpful, but is optional.

Anger is an emotion that is often misunderstood and even more often avoided. Hurtful or harmful experiences with what is deemed anger often creates a longstanding trauma response to anger, thus resulting in its true potency being marginalized. But lasting change, especially in the face of abuse or oppression, requires anger. It is the emotion that tells us where the line in the sand is drawn and what action needs to be taken. It is a necessity.
Providing an overview of the different nuanced faces through which anger can appear, this presentation will connect the main five to the Avalonian goddesses, highlighting each particular anger guidance and how to work with it with our own lives and communities.

What if your healing path wasn’t linear—but cyclical, like the turning of the year? This creative, reflective workshop invites participants to explore how the Wheel of the Year can become a mirror for their personal shadow work. We’ll trace each sabbat as a symbolic stage of transformation—uncovering seasonal patterns in how our wounds and wisdom emerge. Through intuitive mapping and visual journaling, each participant will create a personal Wheel of Shadows—a symbolic guide to track, honor, and work with their emotional and spiritual cycles over the course of a year. (This should feel supportive and is unlikely to trigger unless someone is currently in a very fragile state.)
Participants Need To Bring: Pen and paper or journal.

Craftivism is crafting as a gentle form of activism. It can be a subtle form (the kind that lands “when the ear is ready to hear”) or it can be bright, bold, and hard to ignore. Our sparks of Awen are always wonderfully contagious when we gather, and gathering together Artisans and Guardians is definitely aligned with the gentle resistance of Craftivism. It’s a small way to make a big impact on the world we live in, and we know the power of infusing our work with positive intention! If one trickle of water can reshape a mountain over time, just by running on it over and over, we can surely make a difference in shaping the world we wish to see. Come learn new ways and new ideas to make a difference in the world, one tiny piece at a time, one small act of craftivism at a time.

With stories of struggle, seduction, and self-love, the Goddesses of Avalon, Blodeuwedd, Rhiannon, Arianrhod, Branwen, and Ceridwyn, have much wisdom to share about experiencing (and surviving) life’s challenges. In the myths and legends, they experience very real, very human tragedies which allow them to relate to us. Each Goddess has a lesson that we can remember in times of sadness and despair, anger and rage, and anxiety and panic. They guide us through the dark, reminding us that we are not alone. This presentation will be fun, focused on mythology, and packed with useful information that attendees can utilize daily.
Participants Need To Bring: A copy of the Mabinogion and pictures of each of the Five Goddesses of Avalon – Blodeuwedd, Rhiannon, Arianrhod, Branwen, and Ceridwyn.
